With Navizon, you can create notes that will be attached to a specific location (also known as Geotags). Those notes that are shared with the rest of the community will pop up on the device of other users when they enter the vicinity of the geotag.
So let's say for example you're in a restaurant. You really like it or really hate it. You post a note using Navizon's Geotags. Then everyone else that will pass by this restaurant will see this note pop up on his device (as long as he has the same interests than you).
Creating Geotags
There are two ways you can create geotags:
- directly from Navizon: just click on new tag, enter what you have to say in the comment area and tag it with the appropriate tags
- from the web interface: go in the "Tag" section of the user area. Double click on a place on the map and just fill out the information. From the web interface, you can also edit or delete your own geotags.
How are Geotags structured?
The main information (what you have to say) should be in the comment area. Then you can tag it with the appropriate tags so that it can get a higher rank for people who have the same interest than you. You can also add a URL if there's a web page related to the subject.
So for the restaurant example, you could have in the comment "Tony's Italian restaurant - the best pasta I had in a very long time" and tag it with "italian dining pasta".
Another example: let's say you see a speed radar on the highway, you could have in the comment "Speed radar here. Slow down!" and tag it with "speed radar driving".

The sensitivity bar
On Navizon you can also define the radius of the geotags you want to search around you. So let's say you are driving on a highway and you want to be notified if you're entering the
vicinity of a speed radar in order to slow down, you should set the sensitivity to 5 or 10 km. If you are a pedestrian and you are looking for what users had to say about places that are in your neighborhood, then you might want to set the sensitivity to 1 mile.
The notification button
You can decide how you want to be notified when you enter the
vicinity of geotags create by others. You can have it pop up on the device (cool if you're using it for the speed camera example) by selecting "Pop up", or have it simply displayed in the tag tab of Navizon by selecting "Quiet". You can also have it disabled all together by selecting "Disabled".
