  • Navizon includes an amazing new feature that will allow you to find location of your phone at any time by simply sending your phone an sms (text) message.

  • All you have to do is set a password in Navizon, and when a text message containing that password is received by your phone, Navizon will recognize it, instantly find its’ location and respond with the coordinates.

  • As always with Navizon, no GPS lock is necessary to find a location, so this feature can even work indoors. This is a great tool to help locate a lost or stolen phone.

For help setting up MobiFindr, please see below.

 

Note: This feature is currently only available on iPhone, and Blackberry devices. It will be available for Windows Mobile, and Symbian shortly.

 

To set up Mobfindr, to locate your phone when you send it a message with your passphrase, you first need to follow a few simple steps:

 

  • First, simply start Navizon, and immediately hit "Cancel" in the top right corner.

 

  • This will bring you to the Navizon configuration screen.
    Scroll down to the bottom, and you will see a section titled
    "Locate-by-SMS"

  • In this section you need to:

  1. Set "Enabled" to "ON"

  2. Enter your passphrase in the box next to "Keyword" (this code is what you will send to your phone in order for it to respond with your location, so make sure and remember it, and only give it to someone you want to be able to locate you.

  • Once you have set a passphrase, and enabled Mobifindr, you can scroll to the top and press "Locate me now", to continue using Navizon, or you can press the "Home" button to return to the home screen.

  • The Mobfindr feature will in the background, and will not adversely affect battery life, because it only turns on when it receives a text message with your passphrase.

  • Once Navizon is open, go into Options > "Account info". You should see a section for Mobifindr

     

  • On this screen, you need to:

  1. Scroll down past your username and Password to the Mobifindr settings, and make sure the checkbox next to "Mobifindr Enabled" is checked.

  2. Enter your passphrase in the box under "Mobifindr Passphrase. (this code is what you will send to your phone in order for it to respond with your location, so make sure and remember it, and only give it to someone you want to be able to locate you.)

  • Once you have set a passphrase and made sure the feature is enabled, all you need to do is send the device running Navizon a text message with your passphrase, and Navizon will automatically respond with the address of the device.
