Navimote is an on-demand phone-finder based on push technology. With Navimote you can enable others to retrieve your position in real-time.

With Navimote you can:

• Locate your friends

• Locate your phone (if you installed Navimote on it before you lost it)

• Keep track of your children

How Navimote works

In order to locate a device that has Navimote is installed on it, you will need to send an authorization request (a "token") to the person you want to track. He/she will be asked to enter the token into Navimote on their phone or computer. You can see your friends position as soon as your friend has entered the token has into his/her phone/device.

Navimote is available on Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Mobile, S60/Nokia, Blackberry and Sony Ericsson Java as well as iPhones (jailbroken with OS3).

Navimote "sleeps" most of the time and when someone requests your location Navimote wakes up,  calculates the position and goes back to sleep.

The position from Navimote is always up to date.

Navimote does not drain your battery.

What you need to locate a phone/person with Navimote

• Navimote must be installed on the device/phone you want to locate.

• The phone/device you want to locate must have an internet connection.
  

• A navizon account (sign up for free here)

• You must send a token to the person you want to locate.

• The owner of the device must enter the token into Navimote

How to Install Navimote

• Please install by going to www.navizon.com/navimote from your device.
  

•  iPhone OS 3 (jailbroken phones only): Please install from Cydia.

• Enable Navimote:  Make sure it is set to "on" if you want yourself or others to be able to locate your phone.

• Add token: is used if a friend sends you a token - this will enable your friend to see where you are.
  

• Manage on the web:  takes you to your Navimote web page

• On your Navimote webpage you see a list of the phones/friends (tokens) you have added before. Click the "Get location" button to see their position on a map.
  (on the iPhone click on the name - there is no "Get location" button on iPhone)

When you click "Get location" a map will be opened, and a marker will be placed on the map to indicate where your friend is:

Inviting a friend to sshare his location with you

• The "Send new token" link on your Navimote web page will take you to a page where you can invite a friend to see your position:

• Enter a "Device name" that you want to see in your list of devices/friends on your Navimote webpage, enter your friends email address and your own email address and click "Send".

• "An email has been sent" will appear when the mail has been sent successfully.
  

• Your friend will now receive an email with your token and an invitation to share his location with you on Navimote.

Entering a token into Navimote

• If your friend wants to share his position with you, then he must enter your token into Navimote.

• If you have received a token and want to share your position with the person who sent it, then you must enter the token into Navimote on your phone/device.
  
  By entering a token you are allowing the person who sent it to see your location, whenever that person wants to see it.

To enter a token, start Navimote and click the "Enter Token" button/link and then enter the token you received from your friend.

• After entering the token, click "Done" and a message saying "Token added successfully" should be displayed.

• When your friend opens his Navimote and taps "Manage on the web" he will now see your in the list.

How to locate a phone/friend

• You do not need a phone if you just want to see where a friend (or a phone) is. If they have entered the token you sent them into Navimote, then you can see their position by adding their token to this URL:

  (replace xxxxx with the token you sent to your friend)

Locate a lost phone

If you want to be able to locate your phone (or laptop) in case you loose it, make sure you send a token to yourself and register it in Navimote on the device you want to be able to locate.

If you later loose your phone/device you can attempt to locate it by using any web browser to log on to www.navizon.com .

Technical information

• Navimote uses push tehnology in order to locate the phone only when it's requested:

  1. A location request with a valid token is requested from the Navizon server

  2. A push message is sent to the phone, asking Navimote to "wake up" and return its position.

  3. Navimote uses Navizon positioning technology to find the most accurate position available.

  4. Navimote returns the position.

  5. The location is shown on the map.
     

• Navimote will only run when neccessary, and will not drain the battery.
