Download and install Navizon.
REQUIREMENTS
-- a Wi-Fi and/or Cellular Windows Mobile Smartphone/Pocket PC,
a GPS device or the Virtual GPS.

An internet connection on your Smartphone/Pocket PC is recommended.
 

1. Create an account on http://my.navizon.com/UserAdmin/register.aspx
 Enter your information and hit Register.


2. If you have a Pocket PC skip this step.
 If you have a Smartphone, you must follow those few steps before downloading Navizon:

1) Download this file
http://www.navizon.com/downloads/SdkCerts.cab
and run it on the device.

If the installation was successful, then proceed to the next step. If for some reasons it was unsuccessful then click here.


3. Download Navizon

  • go to the download page , and download Navizon.

  • don't forget to agree with the license agreement, and the download button.

Follow the instructions, and Navizon will be automatically downloaded on your phone.
If you can't download it this way, use the cab file.


4.If you don't have a GPS and are planning to use Navizon with the Virtual GPS skip this step.


 
Install your GPS device as follow:

  • Turn on your GPS device.

 

 

  • On your Smartphone, go to Comm Manager in the main menu, if the bluetooth is off, turn it on, then  click soft-key settings, and then bluetooth settings...

  • Click soft-key Menu > Devices, and then Menu > New. Your mobile will search Bluetooth devices around you.

  • The GPS should appear, select it, enter the passkey "0000" and hit Next.
  • If you want, you can rename the GPS device, then hit Next. Check serial port and hit Done, and Done again.
  • Click soft-key Menu, then COM port,

 

  • Then Menu and New Outgoing Port. Select the GPS device, and choose the COM port you want (for example COM6), check Secure connection and hit Done.
  • On your mobile, go to Wireless manager, check Turn on bluetooth, click on soft key Settings, and then on bluetooth settings.

 

  •  Go to Devices' page, and click on New partnership, your mobile will find the bluetooth devices around you. You should see your GPS among those devices, if you don't, hit Refresh.

  •  Select your GPS device and hit soft-key next;

  •  Enter the passkey, which is usually "0000", and hit soft-key next;

  •  You can change the name of your GPS device if you want to, then select Serial Port and hit Finish.

  •  Now go to the COM Ports section, and  hit New outgoing port, select your GPS and hit next,

  •  Choose the com port you want your GPS to be connected (for instance COM 6), check Secure Connection, and hit Finish.



5. Launch Navizon

  •  Hit Menu> option > GPS, and select the right Com Port for the GPS (here, it's COM6 if you have a GPS or NO GPS if you are using the virtual GPS).

  • In Menu > Options > Account, enter your Username and Password

  • In  Menu > Options > Data, choose the locator you desire:
        - Local database
    , if you don't have internet access on your mobile device (the database will be stored in your device); We advise you to check Auto sync.     
        - Remote, if you do have internet access on your mobile device (Navizon will query the data remotely).
    Then choose
    the frequency you want Navizon to update your position (default is every 5 seconds).
    Then hit done.

NOTE 1: We strongly recommend remote as it is easier to use
NOTE 2: if you just want to map without using Navizon features, you can check 'work Offline' (for Smartphone it is in Menu > Options)

  • In Menu > Options > Power, check 'Manage WiFi Power', this way you won't have to turn on the WiFi every time you are using Navizon, the software will do it automatically.
    With a Pocket PC, we advise you to choose the medium mode.

5. In Navizon, and go to Data Access,

  • Hit  Menu > Options > Data , choose the locator you desire:
        - Local database
    , if you don't have internet access on your mobile device (the database will be stored in your device); We advise you to check Auto sync.     
        - Remote, if you do have internet access on your mobile device (Navizon will query the data remotely).
    Then choose
    the frequency you want Navizon to update your position (default is every 5 seconds).


6. If you have chosen the remote mode, skip this step.
    If  you have chosen the local mode, proceed as follow:

  • go to www.navizon.com and log in;
  • click on set my home area;
  • choose the area in which you want to use Navizon, then click on save as my area

Note: Try to set up the home area to cover only the area that you really need. Setting up an area that is too wide would take a lot of storage space on your device.

  • On your device, go to Menu > Sync, and your home area data will be automatically downloaded.


7.You must activate the Wi-Fi manually for the first use of Navizon.
    On your device, go to Communication management (Smartphone) or  Wireless manager (Pocket PC) and turn on the WiFi

Now, you should see Phone, Wi-Fi  LEDs and GPS (only if you have a GPS device) green and/or orange.

Hit Start, and Navizon will find your position.


8. If you want to see your position on a map,
go to Menu > Go To Map

Note: you don't need to have internet access on your mobile to use this feature.
Indeed, if you have used Navizon with internet once, the map of your neighborhood will be saved in your phone. To choose the size of the map you want to save, go to Menu > Options > Map.


9. You can also use other Navizon features such as Local Search, Geotags, and Buddy Tracker...
Note: you need to have internet access on your mobile to use these features.
